TrueROAS Docs
How to use TrueROAS: campaigns, filters, columns, date ranges and settings, explained step by step.
Getting started
Setting up, understanding your numbers and getting help.
- How do I create a TrueROAS account and log in?
Create your account with email and password, Google or Facebook, then log in on any TrueROAS page and stay logged in on that browser.
- What do I do if I forgot my password?
Click Forgot password? on the login form, enter your email address and follow the link TrueROAS emails you to set a new password.
- How do I set up TrueROAS for the first time?
After you sign up, a short welcome and the Setup TrueROAS panel walk you through adding your store, connecting your ads and Conversion API.
- How do I add a store to TrueROAS?
Click Add New Store in the store list, type your store address, choose its time zone and currency, then connect at least one ad account.
- How do I switch between my stores?
Pick a store in the store list at the top of the left menu, and every page switches to that store for your login only.
- How do I delete a store from TrueROAS?
The store owner or an admin can delete a store with the trash icon in the store list, which stops it and hides it for everyone on the team.
- Why don't my TrueROAS numbers match Meta or Shopify?
TrueROAS counts the orders it can follow back to an ad click, so its numbers differ from what Meta reports and from Shopify's store total.
- How do I book a call with Rasmus?
Book a free 15-minute call with Rasmus, the founder, from the bottom of the left menu to check your setup or review your numbers.
- How do I get help or contact TrueROAS support?
Use Help Center at the bottom of most pages, the Help tab in General Settings or a call with Rasmus to get answers and support.
- How do I find pages in the menu and fold it in?
The side menu keeps your main pages on top and folds the rest into two groups, and an arrow on its edge shrinks it to a strip of icons.
- What does the notification bell show?
The bell next to your store list shows new reports and Alert Agent alerts for the store you have open, with a count of the ones you have not read.
- Why is a page locked behind Upgrade to Pro?
On the Basic plan, LTV, Product Attribution, Customer Journeys, Cost Manager and API Access stay locked until the store moves to Pro or Premium.
- What do Bronze, Silver and Gold data quality mean?
The medal under your store in the profile panel only counts the days since the store was added, and it reaches Gold on day 60.
- What is Trew Media Buyer and how do I use it?
Trew Media Buyer changes your Meta and Google ads when you ask in plain words, and nothing changes until you approve the plan.
- Why does Trew ask me to approve ad changes in parts?
A plan with more than 10 changes runs in parts of up to 10, and you decide after each part whether Trew continues.
- How does Trew usage work and what does it cost?
Your plan includes Trew usage every month, and usage above that is added to your next bill without Trew ever stopping.
- How do I get a report from Trew on a schedule?
Set up a scheduled job with Trew and get the same report by email and in Trew every day, week or month.
- How do I open and share a report from Trew?
When an answer needs more than a few numbers, Trew writes a report you can open in full and share with a link that needs no login.
- Can I try TrueROAS with demo data before I sign up?
Open TrueROAS with the demo link while logged out to click through the Dashboard and Ads Manager with sample numbers before you sign up.

A tour of the Dashboard page, from the dashboard tabs and the date range to the comparison, the AI Summary and the cards you can rearrange.

The store-wide cards explained, from Blended ROAS and Total Sales to the Channels chart, Cost Breakdown and Top Creatives.
- How do I read the channel table on the Dashboard?
One row per sales channel with spend, sales, profit, conversions, ROAS, POAS and CPA, and the ad platform's own figure under each TrueROAS number.
- What do the Meta, Google and TikTok cards mean?
The Meta, Google, TikTok and source cards explained, including the cards marked by Meta or by GoogleAds that use the platform's own numbers.
- How do I see the latest orders and where they came from?
The Recent Orders card lists your last eight orders with their first and last touch, and opens the customer's visits when you click an order.
- How do I show Google Analytics traffic on the Dashboard?
Connect Google Analytics from a Google Analytics card to fill the traffic tables, the users chart and the visitors per ad platform.
- What is the AI Summary at the top of the Dashboard?
The AI Summary writes a short read of your period compared with the previous one, with the most important insights and one possible action.
- How do I add, move, resize and remove cards on a dashboard?
Click Edit Dashboard to add cards from Available Metrics, drag them between rows, change their size or remove them, and every change saves as you go.
- How do I create, rename, make private or delete a dashboard?
In the editor you can add a dashboard, change its name and icon, make it private or primary, delete it, or bring back the standard dashboards with Reset.
- How do I build or change a dashboard with AI?
In the editor, describe the dashboard you want in the Create with AI or Edit with AI box and TrueROAS builds or changes it for you and saves it.
- How do I share my dashboard with someone who has no login?
Share dashboard makes a link that opens a read-only copy of the current dashboard tab, for fixed dates or a rolling period, without logging in.
- What does Export for AI download?
Export for AI saves a text file with your channel numbers for the current and the comparison period, written so you can paste it into ChatGPT or Claude.
- What does the Meta CAPI bar at the top of the Dashboard mean?
The bar under the page title shows whether Meta CAPI is sending your orders to Meta from the server, and opens Events Manager to set it up or manage it.
- What do I do when my Meta or Google Ads connection stops working?
When Meta or Google stops accepting a saved connection, TrueROAS asks the store owner to reconnect and lets team members use their own connection.
- How do I use the Dashboard on my phone?
On a phone the tabs sit above a full-width date button, the controls and cards stack, and wide tables like the channel table scroll sideways.
- What does the setup card at the top of the Dashboard mean?
On a new store, the setup card shows whether visits and orders are coming in, how far your setup is and the one step to do next.
- How do I bring in orders from before I installed TrueROAS?
New Shopify and WooCommerce stores can bring in about 60 days of past orders, so the Dashboard has numbers from the first day.
- What are the banners and pop-ups above my Dashboard cards?
What the report banner, the Your first numbers are in card and the other boxes above your Dashboard cards mean, and which ones you can close.
- Why are my newest orders or ad spend not showing yet?
New orders show within minutes and ad spend comes from the ad platforms, but a paused store, an ended subscription or lost Shopify access stops updates.
- How do I connect or change the ad account behind the Meta, Google and Tiktok tabs?
The Meta, Google and Tiktok dashboards show a connect box until that ad platform is connected and an ad account is picked for the store.
- Can I combine several Meta ad accounts in one store?
Tick up to 3 Meta ad accounts in Choose Meta ad accounts, and the Dashboard adds them up while the Ads Manager lists their campaigns together.
- Which cards are on the standard Summary, Meta, Google and Tiktok dashboards?
The cards each standard dashboard starts with, in order, and the cards you can only add yourself from Available Metrics.
- What is each card called in Available Metrics?
Available Metrics lists cards under names that often differ from the titles on the cards, so this list gives each card its name and tab.
- Which ad spend and costs does each Dashboard card add up?
Blended ROAS, Blended MER, Blended Profit, Cost Breakdown and the channel table each add up a different set of ad spend and costs.
- Why don't my Dashboard Meta or Google sales match the Ads Manager?
The Dashboard counts every order from a channel, including visits without ad tracking, while Ads Manager campaign rows only get orders tied to a campaign.
Ads Manager
Campaign performance, filters, columns and settings.
- What is the Ads Manager and what can I do there?
A tour of the Ads Manager page, from the date range and the settings toolbar to the campaign table, Organic & Unassigned and the export button.

- How do I choose and reorder the columns?
Open Customize Columns from the column icon in the table to add, remove and drag the columns of the Ads Manager table.
- How do I change the date range?
Pick a preset or your own dates from the button in the top right corner, where closing the picker applies them and only Cancel keeps the old dates.
- How do Campaign Auto-Filters work?
Keep or hide campaigns by keywords in their names, saved to your login and applied whenever you open the Ads Manager. Team members start from the owner's list.
- How do I change the attribution model and attribution window?
The store owner or an admin can switch the attribution model with the toolbar buttons and set the window in the gear panel for the whole store.
- What is the difference between the Meta Campaign Name Filter and Campaign Auto-Filters?
The Meta filter is one text that hides Meta campaigns and their spend for the whole store, while Campaign Auto-Filters only change your own table.
- What do Show IDs and Hide Draft & In-Store (POS) Orders do?
Show IDs adds the ad platform ID next to each name, and Hide Draft & In-Store (POS) Orders leaves out draft and in-person Shopify orders.
- What do the columns in the Ads Manager mean?
Every column of the Ads Manager table explained, with who reports the number and how it is worked out.
- What do the colours and the small numbers under a value mean?
ROAS turns green, orange or red against your break-even ROAS, and the small figure under a value is what the ad platform itself reports.
- What does the Summary row at the bottom of the table add up?
The Summary row totals the campaigns you see plus Organic & Unassigned, which is why its ROAS and CPA differ from adding up the campaign rows.
- What is Organic & Unassigned and what do its rows mean?
Organic & Unassigned lists the sales that did not come from a campaign in your table, such as email, direct visits, search engines and coupons.
- How do I see the orders and customer journey behind a campaign?
Click a number such as Sales or Conversion in the Ads Manager to list the orders behind it and every ad the customer clicked before buying.
- What is Incremental Attribution and how does it work?
Incremental Attribution moves part of the sales from sources like direct visits and email to the ads that most likely caused them, without changing your total.
- How do I set up Incremental Attribution?
Turn on the Incremental Attribution switch above the campaign table, then tune Channel Caps and Donor Sources yourself or with the AI assistant.
- What does the View-Through switch do?
View-Through adds the sales Meta reports from people who saw an ad without clicking it on top of your click-based Sales and Conversions.
- How do I pause an ad or change a daily budget from the Ads Manager?
For Meta you can switch a campaign, ad set or ad on and off and edit a daily budget right in the table, while other ad platforms are read only.
- How do I get AI Insights for a campaign?
Click the AI button on a campaign row to get a written analysis of that campaign, a ROAS forecast for Meta, and a chat to ask follow-up questions.
- How do I export my campaign data to a CSV file?
Click Export Campaign Data under the campaign table and pick Campaigns, Ad sets or Ads to download that level for your date range as a CSV file.
- Why is a campaign missing from the Ads Manager?
A campaign is hidden when it had no activity in your date range, when a filter leaves it out, or when its ad platform is not connected.
- How do I use the Ads Manager on my phone?
On a phone the Ads Manager shows campaigns as cards with a summary on top. Some settings, columns, sorting and the order list need a desktop.
- How do Google, TikTok, Pinterest and Snapchat campaigns differ in the Ads Manager?
What each ad platform shows in the Ads Manager table, which columns stay at 0 for it, what its small reported figure counts and which currency it uses.
- Why do some sales show on a campaign but not on its ad sets or ads?
A sale goes on an ad only when the link the customer clicked named that ad. When it named only the campaign, the sale counts for the campaign alone.
- Which attribution model should I use and how does each one give credit?
E-Commerce, Last Touch, First Touch and Custom decide which visit gets credit for a sale, and this explains how each one chooses.

- Which orders does the LTV table count?
The LTV table uses the orders TrueROAS has from the past 12 months, with its own rules for statuses, refunds, tax, shipping and currency.

- What do the tracking statuses in the UTM Manager mean?
What each status in the UTM Manager lists means, from Tracking and Missing to Overridden, Link Broken and Stale Ad ID, and how to fix it.
- Why do sales from my ads show as untracked or organic?
