Can Claude or ChatGPT change my ads?

Yes, once you turn it on. Your AI tool can pause ads, change budgets and create ads, and each change waits for your yes unless auto-accept is on.

Turn it on

Your AI tool can always read your ad data once it is connected. Changing ads is off until you turn it on.

  1. Open Setup in the left menu and click Integrations.
  2. On the Claude, ChatGPT & more card, click the button to open Connect AI Assistants. If you have not connected an AI tool yet, do that first, as described in How do I connect Claude or ChatGPT to TrueROAS?.
  3. Scroll to 4. Let your AI tool change your ads.
  4. Turn on Let AI assistants change my ads.

It works right away. You do not need to reconnect your AI tool.

If you ask your AI tool to change an ad while the setting is off, nothing is changed. The AI tool gives you a link that opens this setting.

How a change works

  1. Ask your AI tool in plain words, for example "pause the three ads with the lowest ROAS on Meta".
  2. TrueROAS checks the plan with Meta or Google without changing anything. Your AI tool then shows you the plan: each campaign, ad set or ad, what it is now and what it will become.
  3. Say yes in the chat. Your AI tool may also show its own question asking if it is allowed to run the change.
  4. The changes run in order. If one fails, the rest are not run and your AI tool tells you which one stopped.

A plan is valid for 30 minutes. After that, ask your AI tool to make the plan again.

What your AI tool can change

  • Pause and resume campaigns, ad sets and ads.
  • Change daily or lifetime budgets, and spend limits on ad sets.
  • Create campaigns, ad sets and ads, and duplicate an ad set. Everything new starts paused, so nothing spends until you turn it on.

Changes go to the Meta and Google ad accounts connected to the store you are talking about. If you have more than one store, tell your AI tool which store you mean.

Undo a change

Every change is saved with what it looked like before. Ask your AI tool "show my recent ad changes" to see them, and "undo that change" to put one back. An undo is shown to you first and waits for your yes, like any other change, unless auto-accept is on. Something your AI tool created is paused when you undo it.

Good to know

  • The setting is saved to your login only. Each person on the store turns it on for themselves.
  • Only the store owner or an admin can change ads. Everyone else can still ask questions about the numbers.
  • It works for Meta and Google ads. Other ad platforms can be read but not changed.
  • Nothing is ever deleted. Your AI tool can pause things, not remove them.
  • A budget change of more than five times the current budget is refused unless you clearly ask for it.
  • Budgets are in the currency of your ad account, which can differ from your store currency. Give amounts in the ad account currency. TrueROAS does not convert.
  • Turning the setting off stops changes right away, including a plan you have not said yes to yet.
  • Changes you make directly in Meta Ads Manager or Google Ads cannot be undone from your AI tool.
