What can I do on the Team tab in General Settings?

The Team tab holds your team name, the teams you belong to, team invites, referrals and the email and password you log in with.

Open the Team tab

  1. Click General Settings at the bottom of the left menu. The page that opens is titled Account Settings.
  2. Click the Team tab.

The Team tab only shows when your login has the Billing & Team permission on the store you have open. On a store you own you always have it. Who else has it is explained in What can team members see and change on the Dashboard and Ads Manager?. The other tabs of the page are described in What is General Settings and what can I do there?.

The tab from top to bottom

  1. Your Teams, which only shows when you are on someone else's team. Each team reads You are part of, the team name and your role, Admin or Member. Store Access also shows as Member here. The team name is the one its owner saved, or the owner's name or email address when they have not saved one. Under each team is a Leave team link, explained in How do I leave a team I was invited to?.
  2. Organization Name, which only shows when you own the store you have open. See the next section.
  3. Three cards, Team Members, Refer & Earn and Email & Password, described in the table below.
  4. The red Sign Out button at the bottom of the page. See How do I sign out of TrueROAS?.

Each card has a button that opens a window:

What the Manage Team Members window shows depends on your role. The store owner and admins see the Team Members list with its + Invite button, and the Store Access section. If you are a Team Member or have Store Access, the window shows Your Access instead, with the teams you are part of under Organizations and the stores you can see under Your Stores. From there you cannot invite anyone.

Change your team name

Your team name is what the people on your team see for your team, for example under Your Teams on their own Team tab.

  1. On the Organization Name card, which reads Set your organization name that will be visible to team members, click Edit.
  2. Type the name in the Organization Name field. Its placeholder reads Enter your organization name.
  3. Click Save. You see Organization name saved successfully! To keep the old name, click Cancel instead.

If you click Save with an empty field, you see Please enter an organization name.

Until you save a name, the card shows a name taken from the store you have open: for a Shopify store, its myshopify.com address without .myshopify.com, and for other stores its web address. A grey line under it says the name was detected from your store and that you can click Edit to change it. This name is only a suggestion. Until you save a name, the people on your team see your name or your email address instead.

A small Agency or Brand label next to the name shows whether you picked My Clients or My Brand under I'm tracking ads for... when you started your plan. If you never answered that question, there is no label. See How do I choose a plan and start my subscription?.

You can also change the name at the top of the Manage Team Members window. Click Customize, or Edit once you have saved a name, type the name and click Save or press Enter.

Good to know

  • The team name is saved to your login, so it is the same for every store you own.
  • Admins on your team cannot change your team name.
  • The team name is not used in invite emails or on the page someone sees when they open your invite. Those show your name, or your email address when your login has no name.
  • On a phone, the window of each card fills the screen.
