How do I read the All customer journeys list?

The list groups orders that followed the same path, with orders, share, revenue, average order and time, and a click opens the orders behind it.

What the list shows

All customer journeys is the last section of the Customer Journeys page, under a thin line. Its description reads Every path customers took before buying, grouped into shared patterns. Each row is one pattern, the count shows how many orders followed it. Click a row to see the orders behind it.

Each row is one journey: the sources a customer came through before buying, in the order they came. Orders that went through the same steps share one row. How TrueROAS works out the steps is explained in How does TrueROAS build a customer journey?, and what each step name means in What do the source names in a customer journey mean?.

Unlike the cards above it, the list keeps every journey, also the ones the cards leave out, such as journeys that only show Direct or Unknown.

The columns

Rows are sorted by orders, most first, and numbered #1, #2 and so on.

ColumnWhat it shows
JourneyThe steps, from the first visit on the left to the last one before buying on the right. A journey with more than 5 steps shows the first 5 and how many more there are, such as +2.
OrdersHow many orders followed this journey.
ShareThis journey's orders as a share of all orders in the list, rounded to a whole percent. A small journey can show 0%.
RevenueThe value of these orders added up and rounded to a whole number.
AoVThe average order value: Revenue divided by Orders, rounded to a whole number.
TimeThe average time from the first visit to the order. Under an hour it shows minutes, such as 45m, otherwise whole hours, such as 80h.

Revenue follows your store's tax, shipping and refund settings, as explained in Does TrueROAS include tax and shipping in my sales? and Can TrueROAS take refunds off my sales?.

A thin line along the bottom edge of each row grows with its number of orders, so the biggest journeys stand out at a glance.

The list shows 25 journeys at first. When there are more, click Show more journeys under the list to see 25 more. The link also says how many are left, for example (40 more). Once every journey is shown, the link reads Show fewer journeys and takes the list back to 25.

See the orders behind a journey

  1. Click anywhere on a row.
  2. A window opens with the orders that followed that journey. It has no title.
  3. Click an order to see its products and the visits that led up to it.
  4. Close the window with the X in its top right corner, or click outside it.

How to read the orders and visits in this window is explained in How do I see the orders and customer journey behind a campaign?. On this page it works the same way, with these differences:

  • The window shows every visit saved with the order. The journey row leaves some visits out, so an order can show more visits than its journey has steps.
  • This page has no campaign table to take ad names from, so every Meta ad and Google Ads campaign in the visits is looked up the way that article describes for ads that are not in your table. Each Meta ad first reads Loading... until its name comes back.
  • Value in the window is each order's full total. Revenue in the list follows your tax, shipping and refund settings, so the orders in the window can add up to a different amount.

On a phone

On a narrow screen, such as a phone or a small tablet, the column names are hidden. Each row shows its steps, with the number of orders, the share and the revenue under them. AoV and Time are not shown.

You can still tap a row to open its orders. On a phone the window fills the screen, and each order shows its number, its New or Returning label when it has one, and its value on one line, with the date and the products under it.
