How do I upgrade, downgrade or switch my plan to yearly billing?
Use Upgrade or Change Plan on the Billing tab to see the cost first, then confirm, with upgrades starting now and downgrades at renewal.
Open the plan window
- Open General Settings and click Billing.
- Under Your Subscription, click Upgrade or Change Plan. The Downgrade button next to it opens the same window.
- The window Choose your plan opens.
Pick a plan and how often you pay
- At the top, choose Monthly or Yearly. Yearly carries the label Save ~25%. The window opens on yearly when you pay yearly now, and on monthly otherwise.
- Each card shows the plan's price per month or per year, and under Not in Basic or Not in Pro what that plan does not include. Pro carries the label Recommended when you are not on it.
- Click the button on the card you want:
| Button | What it means |
|---|---|
| Upgrade | Moves you to a higher plan. |
| Downgrade | Moves you to a lower plan. |
| Switch to yearly or Switch to monthly | Keeps your plan and changes how often you pay. |
| Current plan | The plan and billing you have now. It is greyed out. |
| Unavailable | The plan is not sold for your revenue with this billing, for example yearly Basic under $10k a month. The card says Available from $10k/mo. |
| Book a call | On Premium. Premium is set up together with the TrueROAS team, so the button opens a page in a new tab where you book a call. |
Check the cost
Review your change shows the new plan, for example Pro (Yearly), and what you will pay:
- An upgrade, or a switch from monthly to yearly, takes effect straight away. The window shows the cost of the change, including any tax, and the new price you pay from then on.
- A downgrade, or a switch from yearly to monthly, takes effect at the end of your current billing period. The window shows Due today: $0.00 and the date your plan changes. You keep your current features until then.
- During a free trial, every change, including a downgrade, takes effect straight away and your trial keeps running. The window shows Due today: $0.00 and what you will be billed when the trial ends.
Depending on the change, you also see:
- You save with yearly, with the percentage and the amount you save per year.
- You'll unlock and You'll lose, with the features that change.
Click the blue button to go on. Depending on the change, it reads Upgrade to with the plan name (for example Upgrade to Pro), Switch to yearly, Switch to monthly or Continue. Back takes you back to the plans.
Confirm the change
- Confirm upgrade or Confirm downgrade shows the cost once more. For a downgrade, it also lists what you lose access to when the change takes effect.
- Click Confirm & upgrade or Confirm downgrade.
- For an upgrade, you see that you are on the new plan and what you just unlocked. Click the button with the plan name, for example Start exploring Pro. For a downgrade, you see Your plan change is scheduled with the date, or that your plan has been updated during a trial. Click Done.
The page reloads and shows your new plan.
The CAPI add-on when you change plan
Pro and Premium include the Conversion API (CAPI), which sends your sales back to your ad platforms. On Basic it is a separate add-on.
- If you move to Pro and pay for the Conversion API as a separate add-on, Review your change tells you that the add-on will be removed, because Pro includes it at no extra cost.
- If you move from Pro or Premium to Basic during a free trial, tick Keep Conversion API ($49/mo) to keep it as an add-on.
- If you move from Pro or Premium to Basic after your trial, a note says that Basic does not include the Conversion API and that you can add it again later.
More about the add-on is in Do I need the CAPI add-on to send events to ad platforms?.
