What does Start Creatives AI Lab Analysis tell me?
One click has the AI look at all your creatives and return a score, a winning formula, an action plan and which creatives to scale or pause.
Run the analysis
- Open the Ad Performance tab in Creative Lab.
- Under the Top Performing Creatives chart, click Start Creatives AI Lab Analysis. The line under the button says how many creatives the AI analyzes, for example AI will analyze your top 20 creatives and give you recommendations to improve your creative performance. The number is how many creatives the table has, up to 20.
- While the AI works, a box reads Analyzing creatives... Stay on the Ad Performance tab until the result appears.
- The result card takes the place of the button. A line under it counts the creatives the AI analyzed, for example 20 creatives analyzed.
The button only shows when the table has at least one creative.
What the AI works from
- A summary of all the creatives in the table: how many there are, their total spend, how many are videos, images and text, and the average ROAS of your videos and of your images.
- Your averages across the creatives for ROAS, CTR, CPC and Hook Rate.
- The creatives that stand out, by name with numbers such as ROAS, spend, CTR and Hook Rate: the 5 with the best ROAS among those that spent more than 50, the 5 that spent the most among those with a ROAS of at least 1, and the 3 best videos and the 3 best images by ROAS among those that spent more than 30. These amounts are spend as Meta reports it, in the currency of your Meta ad account.
- For ROAS, it takes whichever figure is higher for each creative, the TrueROAS one or the one Meta reports. So its advice can rest on Meta's figures where Meta reports more than TrueROAS tracked.
- Your store's web address and up to 5 of the landing pages your ads link to.
The number on the button and under the result counts your creatives with the most spend, up to 20. The card itself is built from all the creatives in the table.
What each number means is explained in What do the numbers on the Ad Performance tab mean?.
Read the result card
The card shows these parts from top to bottom. On screen, the names of most parts are written in capital letters.
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Score | A number from 0 to 100 in a circle for the overall state of your creatives. Green from 70, orange from 40 and red below 40. |
| Winning Formula | A label for the overall state of your creatives, Excellent, Good, Needs Work or Critical, and a headline with the pattern the AI found in your best creatives. |
| Best: | The format the AI recommends, such as video, image or carousel. |
| Green tags | The key elements your best creatives have in common. |
| Key Insights | Up to 4 findings with numbers from your data. |
| Action Plan | Up to 5 numbered actions, usually naming your creatives. |
| Quick Wins - Do Today | Up to 3 things you can do today. |
| Scale These | Up to 3 creatives to spend more on, each with the reason and a suggested next step. |
| Pause These | Up to 3 creatives to stop, each with the reason and, next to a light bulb, what might still be worth reusing. |
| A/B Test Ideas | Up to 3 numbered tests, each with Expected: followed by the result the AI expects. |
A part the AI has nothing for is left out.
If it does not work
- A red box under the button shows an error message, and the button comes back. Click Start Creatives AI Lab Analysis to try again.
- If the card shows the label Error and the headline Analysis error, the AI ran into a problem, and the reason is under Key Insights.
- If the headline reads Insufficient data to determine winning formula, the AI's answer could not be read.
In the last two cases the score shows 0, which is not a real rating. To try again, open another Creative Lab tab and come back, or reload the page, then click the button again.
Good to know
- The result is not saved. Reloading the page, opening another Creative Lab tab, changing the dates or leaving Creative Lab clears it, and the button comes back.
- While a result shows, the button is gone. To run a new analysis, open another tab and come back, or reload the page. Each run writes new advice, so the wording can change.
- The advice is written by AI from your numbers and the names of your ads. Check it before you act on it.
- It does not change anything in your ads. To make changes from TrueROAS, ask Trew. See What is Trew Media Buyer and how do I use it?.
- Anyone with access to the store can run it. It only covers the Meta ads in the table, like the rest of Creative Lab.
- On a phone, parts that sit side by side, such as Key Insights and Action Plan, stay side by side in narrow columns.
- For advice on one creative, see How do I get AI suggestions for one creative?. For AI advice on a campaign, see How do I get AI Insights for a campaign?.
- You cannot export or share the result.
