How do I open and share a report from Trew?
When an answer needs more than a few numbers, Trew writes a report you can open in full and share with a link that needs no login.
When Trew writes a report
When you ask Trew something that needs more than about three numbers, such as how a campaign did over the last two weeks or why your sales dropped, Trew writes the full answer as a report. In the chat you see a short answer and a small card with:
- The report title and the dates it covers.
- Up to three key numbers, each with its change.
- Open full report and Share.
For short questions Trew answers in the chat as usual, without a report.
Open the full report
- Click Open full report on the card.
- The report opens in a window. It starts with the key numbers and a short summary, then one part per topic, for example performance, how TrueROAS compares with the ad platform, and your tracking setup. It ends with Next step.
- Close the window with the X in the top right corner.
Share a report
- Click Share on the card, or Share at the top of an open report.
- Under Share this report, click Create link.
- Click Copy link and paste it where you want, for example in an email to a client. The button shows Copied.
- Click Open to see the page the other person will see.
The person you send it to does not need a TrueROAS login. They see the report with your store name, the dates and the date Trew wrote it.
Stop sharing a report
- Open the report and click Share.
- Click Stop sharing.
The link stops working straight away. Anyone who opens it sees This report is no longer shared. To share the report again, click Create link. You get a new link and the old one stays off.
Warning: Anyone who has the link can see the numbers in the report, including your sales and ad spend. Stop sharing when the person no longer needs it.
Good to know
- The numbers in a report stay as they were when Trew wrote it. They do not update, so a report shared today shows the same numbers next month. Ask Trew again for fresh numbers.
- Everyone on your team who can see the store can open and share its reports.
- The shared page shows that the report was made with Trew and TrueROAS, and has a button for the viewer to try TrueROAS.
- Pressing Share again on a report that is already shared shows the same link, not a new one.
- You cannot protect a link with a password, limit it to certain people, or set it to expire on a date.
- Reports from Trew are not listed on the Reports page. You find them in the Trew chat where they were written.
