Why is a product missing from Product Attribution?
A product only shows when an order in your date range counts and its order line has a product ID, so check these causes first.
Check the date range, the pages and the name
Attribution is how TrueROAS decides which ad gets the credit for a sale. Product Attribution lists the products sold in your date range, whether or not an ad got the credit for them.
- Only orders placed in your date range count, from the start of its first day to the end of its last day in your store's time zone. See How do I change the date range? and Which currency and time zone do my numbers use?.
- The list only holds products that sold in that period. It is not a list of your whole catalogue, so a product without sales in your date range is not there.
- The list is split into pages, with the highest Sales first and 50 products per page to start with. A product with few sales can be on a later page.
- The product can be listed under another name than you expect, such as a name that includes one of its variants, or an older name of the product. How the name is chosen is explained in What do the numbers in Product Attribution mean?.
To find a product by part of its name or to see more products per page, see How do I search for a product and move through the list?.
Which orders count
- An order counts once, even when TrueROAS has received it more than once.
- With Hide free orders on, orders with a total of 0 are left out, and so are the products on them. With it off, free orders count like any other order. See How do I hide free orders from my reports?.
- On stores that are not on Shopify, such as WooCommerce stores, orders that are pending payment, on hold, failed or in the trash are left out, and so are most cancelled orders. Refunded orders still count.
- On Shopify stores every order counts, whatever its status. When the store owner or an admin has turned on Hide Draft & In-Store (POS) Orders, draft orders, in-person Shopify POS orders, orders with a pending payment and most cancelled or fully refunded orders are left out too. See What do Show IDs and Hide Draft & In-Store (POS) Orders do?.
These rules are close to the Dashboard's, but not the same, so an order can count here and not there. For example, with Hide free orders off a free order counts here, while the Dashboard's sales never include free orders. The Dashboard's rules are explained in Why don't my TrueROAS numbers match Meta or Shopify?.
Which order lines count
- An order line only counts when it has a product ID. Items without one are left out, for example a custom item added by hand to a Shopify order, or the items of a checkout that does not send product IDs.
- An item priced at 0 still counts in Quantity Sold but adds nothing to Sales, so a product can be listed with Sales of 0.
Orders TrueROAS has not seen yet
- Orders placed before you installed TrueROAS only show once they are imported. See How do I bring in orders from before I installed TrueROAS?.
- A new order shows a few minutes after it is placed. The list does not update by itself, so reload the page to check again. See Why are my newest orders or ad spend not showing yet?.
Good to know
- Hide free orders, and Hide Draft & In-Store (POS) Orders once the store owner or an admin has turned it on, apply to the whole store, so everyone on the store sees the same products for the same date range.
- If the list shows products you do not sell at all, see Why does Product Attribution show products I don't sell?.
- Cost Manager has its own product list with its own rules. See Why is a product missing from the Cost Manager table?.
- You cannot add a product by hand, hide a product from the list or merge two rows into one.
