Can Trew or my AI assistant change my ads without asking me first?

Yes, if you turn on auto-accept for a store. Each change is checked against your limits and by a second review, and anything that fails waits for you.

What auto-accept does

Normally every ad change that Trew or your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT) proposes waits until you click Approve or say yes in the chat. With auto-accept on, a change runs right away, but only after it passes two checks:

  1. Your limits. TrueROAS checks the change against the live numbers in your ad account, the limits you set, and the last 7 days of sales.
  2. A second review. A separate AI compares the change with what you asked for and with your real spend and sales, and has to agree that the amounts and the campaigns, ad sets or ads are right.

A change that fails either check is not lost. It shows up as a normal plan marked Needs your OK, with a line starting Auto-accept stopped this that says why. You approve or reject it as usual.

Turn it on

  1. Open Trew Media Buyer in the left menu.
  2. In the panel on the right, click Changes.
  3. Turn on Auto-accept changes.
  4. Read Turn on auto-accept for this store? and click Turn on.
  5. If you have not accepted the terms yet, Before Trew changes your ads opens. Tick the box and click Accept and continue.

You can also find the switch on the Connect AI Assistants page under 4. Let your AI tool change your ads, once Let AI assistants change my ads is on. It is the same setting.

Set your limits

Click Edit limits under the switch. The Auto-accept limits window has four settings:

  • Biggest budget change: 50% by default. A budget, bid or spend limit that moves up or down by more than this asks you first.
  • Most campaigns, ad sets or ads at once: 5 by default. A plan that touches more asks you first.
  • Protect top sellers: 30% by default. Pausing or lowering the budget of anything that brought in more than this share of the platform's sales in the last 7 days asks you first.
  • Most extra spend per day: empty by default. Budget increases and turning on paused campaigns count toward it. While it is empty, turning on a paused campaign or ad set that has its own budget always asks you.

Click Save limits.

These rules always apply and cannot be changed:

  • Anything already changed twice in the last 7 days asks you first, so a campaign is not pushed back into learning again and again.
  • Amounts must be in the ad account's currency.
  • If TrueROAS cannot read the current budget or the last 7 days of sales, the change asks you first.

See what was checked

A change that ran on its own shows Auto-accepted on its card in Trew. Click Show the checks to see every check with its numbers, for example "100 → 110 SEK (+10%)". In Changes, these rows are marked auto-accepted.

Every change can be undone with Undo on the card or in Changes.

Good to know

  • The setting is for the whole store. It covers Trew, the Trew planner and AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT for that store. AI assistants also need Let AI assistants change my ads turned on for your login.
  • Only the store owner or an account admin can turn it on, turn it off or change the limits. Everyone else sees a message saying so.
  • It is off by default, and you can turn it off at any time. Plans that were already stopped still wait for you.
  • On a phone, the Changes panel in Trew is hidden. Use the Connect AI Assistants page instead.
  • If your Meta and Google ad accounts bill in different currencies, Most extra spend per day only covers the one it is set in. Spend increases on the other ad account ask you first.
  • Auto-accept never deletes anything, and new campaigns, ad sets and ads still start paused.
  • The checks reduce mistakes but cannot rule them out. Read Can Claude or ChatGPT change my ads? for how changes from AI assistants work.
