What do the labels on a client card mean?

Client paying, Shopify-billed and Paused on a client card tell you who pays for a store and whether it still collects data.

The label in the top right corner

Each card on My Clients can show one label in its top right corner. The label tells you who pays TrueROAS for that store.

LabelWhat it means
Client payingA client paid for this store. It shows once your client has finished checkout through your invite link, or through a billing link for a store you set up. It also shows when someone other than you is set up as the person who pays for the store.
Shopify-billedThe store pays for TrueROAS through its Shopify bill. Its card has no Copy billing link for client button.
No labelNo client has paid for the store through one of your links. This is the case for the stores you still pay for yourself, and usually for the stores of a client who invited you to their team and pays for them directly.

A store that pays through Shopify always shows Shopify-billed, never Client paying.

How a client starts paying is explained in How do I invite a new client with my discount link? and How do I let a client pay for a store I set up?.

The line under the store name

The small grey line under the store name shows the email of the login that owns the store. For a store you added yourself, that is your own email, also after a client has taken over the payment.

When TrueROAS finds no email for the owner, the line shows the store's web address as it was added to TrueROAS instead, such as yourstore.myshopify.com. Hover over the store name on any card to see that address.

Paused at the end of the line means the store does not collect new data. Either someone paused it, or its tracking was turned off after its subscription ended. The whole card is shown faded. How a store starts again is explained in Why are my newest orders or ad spend not showing yet?.

Good to know

  • The labels are loaded when you open My Clients. Reload the page after a client has paid to see Client paying.
  • Client paying tells you that a client took over the payment. It does not tell you whether their subscription is still active, and My Clients does not show your clients' plans or prices.
  • You cannot change a label or the line under the store name from My Clients.
  • On a phone the cards are shown one under the other, with the same labels.
