What are Alert Agent reports?
Alert Agent checks your store once a day and tells you when your ROAS moved more than usual, by email and as a card on the Reports page.
What it does
Once a day, between 2 PM and 3 PM in your store's time zone, Alert Agent looks at yesterday's ROAS of the Meta Ads and Google Ads accounts connected to your store, taken together.
It compares yesterday's ROAS with three things:
- the average of the 7 days before
- the same weekday last week
- the same day last year
When the change is big enough for your sensitivity rules, Alert Agent decides whether it is worth telling you about. If it is, you get a short written summary of what changed. How big a change has to be is explained in How do I choose how sensitive Alert Agent alerts are?.
Alert Agent can also stay quiet about a change that met your rules, or email you about a smaller one, for example when your ROAS keeps sliding a little every day. See Why didn't Alert Agent email me when my ROAS changed?. To tell it what is normal for your store, see How do I teach Alert Agent what matters for my store?.
Where you see it
- By email, sent to the people chosen for the store.
- In the Alert Agent column on the Reports page. The card shows yesterday's ROAS, the spend and the change against the 7-day average. Open it to see Spend, Sales and ROAS with the full summary, as explained in How do I read an Alert Agent report?.
- In the notification bell. Click the alert there to open it on the Reports page. Who gets it is explained in What does the notification bell show?.
Turn it on or change who is emailed
Alert Agent is off until you switch it on:
- Open Setup in the left menu and click Integrations.
- Under AI Agents, click See agents on the Your Agents card. Once an agent is on, the button reads Manage.
- On the Alert Agent card, turn on the switch at the top right. The card shows On.
- Click the gear at the bottom right of the card. Its tooltip reads Alert settings.
- Under Who gets these emails, add the people who should get the alerts, then click Save. When no one is on the saved list, the alerts go to the email address the store owner logs in with.
Once the column is on the Reports page, the gear button in its header, Alert Agent settings, opens the same settings. That window also has an Enable Alert Agent switch, which does the same as the switch on the card. More about the card is in What is the Your Agents page and what can I do there?.
Good to know
- Alert Agent is in beta and watches ROAS only. It only counts your Meta Ads and Google Ads, so a change on TikTok or another ad platform never leads to an alert.
- Alert Agent needs a Meta Ads or Google Ads account connected to the store. Without one it skips its daily run and its card on the Your Agents page shows blocked. See What is the Your Agents page and what can I do there?.
- The settings are for the whole store, not only your login. Turning it off stops the emails, bell notifications and new cards for everyone on the store.
- Only the store owner or an admin can change who gets the emails. For everyone else the list is greyed out.
- It runs once a day and never sends alerts during the day. Most days stay quiet.
- You cannot ask for an alert on request.
