What is General Settings and what can I do there?

A tour of General Settings, from the Ad Platforms and Store Settings tabs to Data Settings, Help and the Sign Out button.

Open General Settings

Click General Settings at the bottom of the left menu. Its tooltip reads Manage your profile, billing, team members, and account preferences. The page is titled Account Settings and opens on the Ad Platforms tab.

Each tab has its own web address, for example /settings?tab=store-settings for Store Settings, so you can bookmark a tab or send someone a link to it.

The menu item only shows when your Settings permission is View or Edit. The store owner and admins always have it. See What can team members see and change on the Dashboard and Ads Manager?.

Good to know

  • The settings on the Store Settings and Data Settings tabs belong to the store you have open. Most apply to the whole store, and a few are saved to your login only. Each article says which.
  • On a phone, the tab bar scrolls sideways with arrows, the cards fill the width of the screen, windows such as Reporting Settings open full screen, and Sign Out spans the width.
  • General Settings stays open when your subscription has ended or a payment failed, so you can still reach Billing.
  • Where each page sits in the menu is explained in How do I find pages in the menu and fold it in?.
