How does Refer a Friend work and what do we both get?
Share your referral link so a friend starts with a free month, or join the affiliate program to earn up to 20% of what the people you refer pay.
Open the referral options
There are two ways in:
- Click Refer a Friend at the very bottom of the left menu. A window titled Grow Together opens. On a phone, open the menu with the button in the top left corner first.
- Or click General Settings, open the Team tab and click View Options on the Refer & Earn card (Get free months for you & friends, or earn commissions by referring people.). A window titled Referral Programs opens.
Both windows show the same cards: Recruit a Friend, Affiliate Program and, for some logins, a one-time credit described below.
Share your referral link
The Recruit a Friend card, with Both get 1 month free (each) under its title, says Share your link. When a friend subscribes, you both receive one month free.
- Your link is in the field Your referral link. You cannot edit it.
- Click Copy Link. You see Link copied!, and the button reads Copied! for 3 seconds.
- Send the link to your friend, for example by email or chat.
What your friend gets
- Your friend opens your link. If they are not logged in, they see the login form, where they can log in or create an account. See How do I create a TrueROAS account and log in?.
- Once they are logged in, TrueROAS shows Your free month is claimed! Now make sure to get set up! and takes them to the Dashboard.
- When they start a plan in TrueROAS within 30 days of opening your link, their free trial lasts until those 30 days are over. How to start a plan is explained in How do I choose a plan and start my subscription?.
If you open your own link, you see You can't invite yourself. and nothing is claimed.
Affiliate Program
The Affiliate Program card, with Earn ongoing commissions under its title, says Perfect for agencies and creators. Up to 20% lifetime commissions.
Click Join Program to open the sign-up page of the TrueROAS affiliate program on Rewardful in a new tab. Your affiliate link and your commissions are handled there, not inside TrueROAS.
The one-time $20 credit
If your login has been through Stripe's checkout page in TrueROAS, for example to start a plan, a gold card titled Secret Treasure Found!, with $20 Free Lunch Credit under its title, can show at the top of the window.
- Click Claim $20 Treasure!. The button reads Claiming... while it works.
- You see $20 has been added to your account balance! This will be applied to your next invoice. The card then disappears.
The credit is $20, turned into the currency you pay in at a fixed exchange rate, and it comes off your next invoice. You can claim it once per login. If claiming fails, you see Sorry, something went wrong claiming your treasure. Please try again.
Good to know
- Your referral link belongs to your login, not to a store, so it stays the same whichever store you have open.
- The window does not show who used your link or whether your own free month has been added. If you have a question about it, contact support as described in How do I get help or contact TrueROAS support?.
- Opening your link does not change a plan your friend already has. They still see the message that the free month is claimed.
- The Refer & Earn card is on the Team tab, which only shows for people with the Billing & Team permission. Refer a Friend in the left menu is there for everyone. See What can team members see and change on the Dashboard and Ads Manager?.

- After you change your plan, the success screen also shows your link under Give a month, get a month, with a Copy link button. See How do I upgrade, downgrade or switch my plan to yearly billing?.
