How do I sort the creatives and choose the columns in Creative Lab?
Click a column header to sort the Ad Performance table, and use Show/Hide Columns to add or remove columns for this visit.
Sort the table
- Click a column header in the table on the Ad Performance tab, for example Spend, ROAS or CPA. The first click sorts from high to low.
- Click the same header again to sort from low to high.
The table starts sorted by Spend, from high to low. The column you sorted by has a dark arrow next to its name, and the other headers show a faint one. Hovering over a header shows its tooltip, explained in What do the numbers on the Ad Performance tab mean?.
- ROAS sorts by the TrueROAS figure. Creatives without TrueROAS sales count as 0, so they end up at the bottom when you sort from high to low, even when Meta reports a ROAS for them.
- Ad Name and Type sort by their text, so the first click goes from Z to A.
- The picture column and the AI Review column cannot be sorted.
Choose the columns
- Click the column icon above the table, on the right. Its tooltip reads Show/Hide Columns.
- In the Show Columns list, tick a column to show it, or untick it to hide it. Each click changes the table at once, and the list stays open.
- Click outside the list, or press Esc, to close it.
When the page opens, the table shows the picture, AI Review, Ad Name, Type, Spend, ROAS, Sales, Orders, CPA, Clicks, CPC, CTR, Hook Rate, Hold Rate and Impressions. You can add Meta Sales, Meta Orders, Reach, Video Views and Frequency.
- The first tick box in the list has no name next to it. It shows or hides the AI Review buttons.
- Ad Name is greyed out in the list and always shows. The picture is not in the list and always shows too.
- Clicks is in the list twice. The one ticked when the page opens, under CPA, is the link clicks column described in What do the numbers on the Ad Performance tab mean?.
- A column you add takes its place in the order of the list, not at the end of the table. For example, Meta Sales shows up right after Orders.
Move around the table
- The table scrolls inside its own box, and its header row stays at the top while you scroll down.
- When you scroll sideways, the picture and Ad Name stay in place, so you always know which creative a number belongs to.
Good to know
- Your sort and your columns are not saved anywhere and only change what you see. They go back to the start when you reload the page, switch to another tab such as Creative Breakdown and back, change the dates or pick another Meta ad account.
- The CSV export uses the columns you show. See How do I select creatives and export them to a CSV file?.
- The table works the same way on a phone. Scroll it sideways to see more columns.
- You cannot drag columns into another order, search the table, or filter it by type or campaign. To compare single images, videos, headlines and ad copies, use the Creative Breakdown tab, described in How do I see which images, videos, headlines and ad copies work best?.
