How do I leave a team I was invited to?
Click Leave team under Your Teams in General Settings, or ask the team owner to remove you when its stores still show afterwards.
Leave from the Team tab
- Click General Settings at the bottom of the left menu and open the Team tab.
- Under Your Teams, find the line that reads You are part of followed by the team's name and your role, Admin or Member.
- Click Leave team under that line. You leave right away, without a question to confirm.
- You see You have left the team. and the page reloads.
If you see Could not leave team., try again, or ask the team owner to remove you.
The first team you joined can show up again under Your Teams after the page reloads. Click Leave team on it once more to finish leaving.
If the team's stores are still in your store list after that, ask the store owner to remove you. How they do it is explained in How do I change a team member's role or permissions, or remove them?.
If you cannot see the Team tab
The Team tab only shows when your login has the Billing & Team permission on the store you have open. Team members and people with Store Access do not have it unless the team owner turned it on. See What can team members see and change on the Dashboard and Ads Manager?.
- If you have a store of your own, switch to it first, as described in How do I switch between my stores?. On your own store the Team tab is always there, and Your Teams lists every team you are part of.
- If you have no store of your own, ask the team owner to remove you.
Leave from the Team Members window
If you joined as a team member or with Store Access, and you have the Billing & Team permission on the team's store, you can also leave from the Team Members card on the Team tab. Click Manage on it. The Manage Team Members window shows Your Access, and under Organizations (Teams you are part of) each team with Owned by and the owner's name. An admin sees the team's member lists in this window instead, so as an admin you leave from Your Teams as described above.
- Click Leave next to the team.
- The Leave team? window asks you to confirm and says You will not be able to see their stores anymore.
- Click Leave Organization, or Cancel to stay. The button reads Leaving... while it works.
- You see You have left the team. Reload the page to update your store list.
If it fails, you see Could not leave team. Please try again.
Good to know
- Leaving only changes your login. Your own stores and your other teams stay as they are.
- To join the team again, ask the team owner for a new invite. See How do I join a team when someone invites me to TrueROAS?.
- Remove Yourself from Organization on the Billing tab does not end access you got from an invite. Use Leave team instead.
- A store owner is not on their own team, so there is nothing to leave. To hand a store to someone else, see How do I transfer my store to another owner?.
