What is the AI Summary at the top of the Dashboard?
The AI Summary writes a short read of your period compared with the previous one, with the most important insights and one possible action.
What it shows
Under the row of controls, the AI Summary block writes a few sentences about your date range once the cards have loaded. While it is being written, only the AI Summary heading shows, with an empty space under it.
- The summary paragraph compares your period with the comparison period picked under Compare to, or reads the period week by week when there is no comparison period to use.
- Click I want to learn more to open two more parts:
- Most important insights: usually three to five short findings, each with an arrow. Green up for a gain, red down for a drop, grey for no change.
- Possible Action: one thing to try, why, and under Likely outcome what to expect from it.
- Click Show less to fold them away. They also fold away when you switch to another store.
A line in italics under the text says which dates were used and adds Trends outside this window aren't considered. With Incremental Attribution on, a second sentence says that the numbers follow it (attribution is how TrueROAS decides which ad or channel gets credit for a sale). When the period is read week by week, that sentence says only the totals follow it, so the weekly figures per channel won't add up to them.
When there is nothing to show yet
The summary compares periods when the comparison period has at least 200 in sales, in your store currency, or at least 5 orders. Otherwise it reads your date range week by week, as long as at least 4 of its weeks have sales or orders.
If neither is the case, for example on a new store, you see Your AI insights are warming up instead of a summary, ending with Most stores see their first insights within a couple of weeks of consistent tracking. Keep tracking; the summary appears by itself once there is enough history.
If the summary could not be written, a line starting with Couldn't generate insights appears with a Retry button. On a store that shows Tracking off in the store list, no summary is written, so this line shows in its place and Retry does not change that. See Why are my newest orders or ad spend not showing yet?.
Good to know
- The same summary comes back only while the numbers, dates, Compare to choice, currency and Incremental Attribution setting are exactly the same, and for up to 12 hours. New orders in your date range, another date range or another Compare to choice give you a new summary.
- It reads your data and writes advice. It does not change anything in your ad accounts or your store.
- It follows your Compare to choice. See How do I compare with the previous period?.
- If no Google Ads account is connected to the store, the summary says Google Organic where it would otherwise say Google Ads.
- You cannot ask the summary follow-up questions. For that, use Trew. See What is Trew Media Buyer and how do I use it?.
- The block cannot be removed or moved, and the text cannot be exported from here. Export for AI downloads the numbers instead. See What does Export for AI download?.
