How does Trew usage work and what does it cost?

Your plan includes Trew usage every month, and usage above that is added to your next bill without Trew ever stopping.

What counts as usage

Everything Trew does for you counts: questions in the chat, jobs that check or change your ads, and every run of a scheduled job. A short question uses a little. A job that reads all your ads and builds a plan uses more.

See how much you have used

  1. Open Trew Media Buyer from the left menu.
  2. Look at the bottom of the panel on the right. Usage this month shows how much of the usage in your plan you have used, as a percentage.
  3. In a chat, the card of each finished job that changes your ads shows what it used, for example $1.55 of usage.

The line under the bar tells you where you stand:

  • Included in your plan. You are within your plan. The date after it is when your usage starts over.
  • Extra usage: $8.20, added to your next bill. You went past what your plan includes. The amount is what you will pay for this month so far.
  • Unlimited on your plan. Your plan has no usage limit.

What happens when you go over

Trew keeps working. Usage above what your plan includes is added to your next bill:

  • If you pay by card, it shows as Trew usage on your next invoice.
  • If you pay through Shopify, it shows as a separate usage charge called Trew usage above your plan, after the month ends.

While you are trying TrueROAS and have no paid plan yet, extra usage is counted but not charged. The bar then says Not charged while you try TrueROAS.

Good to know

  • Usage is counted per store and starts over on the 1st of every month.
  • Pro includes more usage than Basic. Premium has no limit.
  • Everyone on the store sees the same usage, and every team member's questions count toward it.
  • On Shopify billing, your total charge for a 30-day period cannot go above the limit you approved in Shopify. Usage that does not fit is charged in a later period.
  • You cannot set your own spending limit or switch extra usage off.
  • The usage panel does not show on phones.
