What does the Meta CAPI bar at the top of the Dashboard mean?

The bar under the page title shows whether Meta CAPI is sending your orders to Meta from the server, and opens Events Manager to set it up or manage it.

What Meta CAPI is

Meta CAPI, the Conversions API, lets TrueROAS send your orders to Meta from its own server instead of relying on the browser. Meta then sees purchases that browser tracking misses, for example when an ad blocker or a privacy setting is in the way, and can optimise your ads on more complete data. It is set up on the Events Manager page under Setup in the left menu. See How do I set up Meta CAPI in Events Manager?.

Before it is set up

The bar reads Recover ~11% more purchases with Meta CAPI with the line Passively optimize your Meta ads (2 min setup) and a button Install Meta CAPI. On a phone it reads +~11% with Meta CAPI with an Install button.

Click the bar or the button to open Events Manager and follow the setup there.

When it is running

The bar turns green with a Live badge and reads Actively recovering ~15-17% of purchases with the line Meta CAPI is sending server-side events in real time. On a phone it reads Recovering ~15-17% of purchases. It only turns green once Meta CAPI is switched on in Events Manager and your Meta dataset and access token are saved there. Until then it shows the install version described above.

On a desktop screen, small Google Ads, TikTok and Klaviyo icons sit next to it. A coloured icon means that platform also receives events from TrueROAS; a greyed one means it is available to connect. Hover over an icon to read which: the tooltip shows the platform name with Sending events, or says the platform is available and can be connected. Click Manage or anywhere on the bar, the icons included, to open Events Manager.

Good to know

  • The percentages in the bar are typical figures, not a measurement for your store. The Events Manager Uplift card is not measured either. It is an estimate worked out from your sales. See What do the cards on the Summary dashboard mean?.
  • The bar reflects the whole store. Everyone on the store sees the same state.
  • It only appears once a store is connected, and it cannot be hidden or moved. While TrueROAS checks the status, a grey placeholder shows in its place.
  • Setting up, pausing or changing Meta CAPI is done in Events Manager, not from the bar.
