What does Export for AI download?
Export for AI saves a text file with your channel numbers for the current and the comparison period, written so you can paste it into ChatGPT or Claude.
Download the file
- Wait until the cards have loaded and Compare to no longer shows a spinner. The Export for AI button is greyed out until then.
- Click Export for AI in the row of controls.
- Your browser downloads a text file named trueroas-attribution-, your store name, and the dates, for example
trueroas-attribution-my-store-2026-09-01-to-2026-09-07.md.
Open the file in any text editor, or upload it to an AI tool such as ChatGPT or Claude and ask your questions about it.
What is in the file
The file is written so that an AI can read it without knowing TrueROAS:
- A header with your store name, currency, timezone, attribution model and attribution window, whether Incremental Attribution was on or off, which comparison period was used, and which of Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok and Pinterest are connected and which are not. Attribution is how TrueROAS decides which channel gets credit for a sale. The model and window appear as short codes, for example
e_commercefor E-Commerce and28-daysfor 28 days. - A section Data sources that explains every column and the difference between numbers tracked by TrueROAS and numbers reported by an ad platform.
- A table Current period with one row per channel and a Total row. The channels are Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest, Organic, Bing, AppLovin and Email, your largest other source under its own name, and Others for the sales left over. Channels without sales, orders or spend are left out. The columns are Ad spend, Attributed sales, Attributed orders, New customers, Assists, True ROAS, Platform-reported sales, Platform-reported orders and Platform ROAS. Columns with no data in either period are left out, and the file says which.
- A table Previous period with the same columns for the comparison period, and a table Change vs previous period with the percentage change per channel. The change table's columns are Attributed sales Δ, Ad spend Δ, True ROAS Δ (pts) and Attributed orders Δ. True ROAS Δ (pts) is the difference between the two True ROAS values, for example +0.35, not a percentage. A dash means there is nothing to compare with, usually because the previous value was 0.
- When there is no comparison data, the file only says No comparison data available for this export. under Previous period, without a change table. Which date ranges get a comparison period, and how it is picked, is explained in How do I compare with the previous period?.
Good to know
- The numbers follow your date range, your Compare to choice and your Incremental Attribution switch at the time of the download.
- Nothing is sent anywhere. The file is created in your browser and only goes where you upload it.
- The file holds channels, not campaigns. For campaigns, ad sets and ads, use the export in the Ads Manager. See How do I export my campaign data to a CSV file?.
- To let an AI tool read your live numbers instead of a file, connect it to TrueROAS. See Can Claude or ChatGPT change my ads?.
- The file is plain text in Markdown, not a spreadsheet, and there is no PDF or image export of the Dashboard.
